“Overall, the Phantom should really be praised for its look and its cooling capabilities. Even though it has some flaws, it is a great candidate for housing any gaming or enthusiast system!”

“The NZXT Phantom at my first glimpse gave me that wow feeling. The further and further I got into reviewing this case, the more that I enjoyed it. The case is built with enthusiasts in mind. It has plenty of features anyone would want with a sleek and sexy touch. While the MSRP is a bit high for most consumers at $139.99 when it becomes available in early September, I still don’t think it’s a high price for a case of this quality. Overall ThinkComputers would like to award the NZXT Phantom Enthusiast Steel Full Tower Chassis a 10 out of 10 and our Editor’s Choice Award!.”

“The NZXT Phantom is an excellent example of form and function working together… It's an enthusiast price for an enthusiast case, but I don't think you'll be disappointed. The four included fans and built in fan controller will offset the cost somewhat, and for me, the thoughtful design and construction quality help make the case truly worth the price.”

“The NZXT Phantom Case looks like something from out of this world with it's bold styling. There are plenty of drive bays, toolless design, lots of fans, cable management, painted interior, fan controller and it's reasonably priced.”

“The Phantom has it everywhere that counts. It’s sleek design is attractive without being overbearing. Installing components is a quick and painless task, and the solid steel construction ensures that this case is going to last much longer than the parts you put in it. Unless you have a limited amount of space to put your computer, this case is not going to disappoint. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a full-tower case of this quality for a price like that. Whether you have a lot of hardware to install, or just like having that extra room inside, this is going to be the perfect case for you.”

“The NZXT Phantom is a breath of fresh air in terms of colour scheme, features and performance. It coped well with our hardware and would make a great case for an overclocked high-end system. Having five independent, variable fan speed controllers is a real boon too, especially as they're within easy reach on top of the case for fine tuning. It's an easy case in which to install hardware with plenty of tool-free fittings and general space to work with. Cable routeing is provided in abundance - in fact the Phantom excels here and we can say without a doubt that building a neat system inside the Phantom is very easy indeed.”

PC Perspective:

“NZXT has focused their entire business strategy on building products specifically geared toward the wants and desires of gamers. I think they made some good strides toward meeting the goals of this strategy with the Phantom case. The air cooling options are stellar, and serious overclockers using water or phase-change cooling for their expensive hardware  will enjoy having multiple cooling avenues to choose from. The included water relay line holes on the back panel of the case was also a great addition for external watercooling solutions.

The overall design and construction of the Phantom is downright gorgeous and included numerous aircooling options that will be more than enough for most enthusiasts and gamers. The tool-less hard drive cages and optical bays made installation quick and painless too. Cable management was also a huge plus with this case as their was ample room to hide data and power cables behind the motherboard. I'm sure NZXT will get a warm reception from enthusiasts on the Phantom and we have high expectations for the company as they become a larger competitor in the PC case industry.”

“NZXT Phantom is unquestionably worth considering when it becomes available in early September—especailly if you're in need of a spacious case for your next gaming PC. Our practice build in this case was very satisfying—it's rare that we don't find ourselves frustrated, even just a little, by cramped conditions, but we didn't once here. If that's the kind of thing that bugs you as much as it bugs us, you'll find the Phantom a lot better idea than putting a Death Star shield generator on the forest moon of Endor.”

“I must say that the NZXT Phantom is superior in quality and offers many great features. The amount of space on the interior is astronomical and will surely be a great choice for many computer users today, as well as for long periods of time in the future. NZXT has brought a lot of features to the table with the Phantom that are new to me and surely new to many others. The integrated fan controller is probably my favorite, though not completely necessary for the fans packaged with the Phantom as they already are silent at full speed. However 20W per channel can supply enough power to any high speed fan on the market. The case is almost 100% toolless (aside from installing the motherboard itself) and can speed up installations greatly. The mesh panels are also a great addition as they look great while acting as a subtle way to improve airflow throughout the entire case. Even a dual radiator can be installed next to the motherboard on the inside of the case on top of where the wire management slots are located.  I can definitely make the statement that the NZXT is a great computer case and I doubt I'll be letting it go for a while. The wire management is great, there is loads of space inside the case, it can house a massive amount of fans, large ones at that, and looks great. For a computer enthusiast in the market for an upper end, full tower, great looking case, the NZXT is far from being shy of a poor choice.”

“Overall we would say the NZXT Phantom chassis is aimed towards computer enthusiasts and gamers who are looking for an excellent chassis for today and will be future proof for a while to come.  The black interior is well done and the vented side panel where an optional 230mm intake fan to cool those heat producing video cards cannot go unnoticed.  The aesthetics are beautiful.  The features are well executed and you will be getting the build quality of NZXT, with the latest and greatest features all wrapped up in a very reasonable price.

We are told that the NZXT Phantom will be available with at the price of $139 USD.  We believe this is a more than reasonable price in a tough competitive market filled with literally hundreds of competitors available in this price range.

So, Johnny Hou, we believe you have fulfilled your promise to us, the consumers.  Well done NZXT, well done.”

“This case is an awesome addition to NZXT’s Impressive Crafted Series. This is by no means the only tool-less case on the market, however a number of the innovations  implemented with this case set it far above most of the ones I have encountered. It is a distinctive honor to be listed as distinctive, in a market with so many competitors. If you are looking for a superior case to house your power house system, this should be at the top of your list.

* Stylish Eye Catching design
* Durable craftsmanship
* Plenty of room for any hardware needs.
* Effective and easy to use cable management
 * Built in  design friendly fan controller
* room for two liquid cooling radiators

What more could ask for? With all of these features, and the fact that I’m stumped to find a drawback. I’m Awarding this TechwareLabs Awesome Hardware Award!

After additional consideration we have decided the NZXT Phantom is worthy of our Editors Choice Award. This makes the Phantom one of a select handful of products we have ever received to be awarded both the Awesome Hardware and the Editors Choice. Congratulations NZXT!”
