Q: What’s the best way to connect and sync RGB lighting on pump cap and fans?

Use your motherboard’s 5V ARGB headers: If your motherboard has more than one header: Plug the pump cap and fans into separate headers for more individual control. If your motherboard has only one header: Daisy-chain them by connecting the fan’s 5V female connector to the 5V male connector from the pump cap, then plug that into the single header. Both methods work. Using separate headers gives you individual control, while daisy-chaining keeps the cap and fans perfectly in sync.

I cant change rgb colour as lights on fan, only 1 fan light is on showing solid green.
The other 2 fan rgb is off. NXZT Cam doesnt detect my rgb. Is there a fix

Thank you for reaching out, and we’re sorry to hear about the issue with your RGB fans.
The RGB color and lighting effects for your NZXT fans are controlled through the NZXT CAM software. If only one fan is lighting up and CAM isn’t detecting the RGB, please make sure all RGB and fan connectors are securely plugged into the controller and motherboard. Also, ensure you have the latest version of NZXT CAM installed, then restart your PC to see if the RGB is detected.

Fans are NOT ‘core’ fans
The fans supplied with this kit connect directly to the motherboard and will not connect to the NZXT controller Which is a shame as the Fans are described as CORE fans which when sold separately actually do connect to the controller hub. It’s all a bit misleading and money grabbing really

The fan included with this kit is the NZXT F360 RGB Core – Essential version. While it is still an F360 Core by design, the Essential version uses standard 5V ARGB and PWM connectors instead of the NZXT proprietary RGB connector. This design allows the fan to connect directly to the motherboard for wider compatibility across different systems and RGB ecosystems.

We understand how the naming can make this confusing when compared to other Core fans that connect to an NZXT controller, and we appreciate you pointing this out. Feedback like yours helps us improve how we communicate these differences in our product descriptions.

It is ok but could be better
Time will tell if the cooler functions well or not. While it is an inexpensive option in comparison to the other flavors of AIOs that NZXT offers, my biggest complaint is the lack of compatibility with the NZXT CAM software. The included cabling is only compatible with GEN2 RGB headers which is not detected through CAM, nor is there any additional cabling or adapters that I could find to connect the lighting through an NZXT controller.

What’s the best way to orient the tubing with the Kraken Core pump cap?

For best performance and reliability, route the tubes from the right side of the pump. This helps prevent air bubbles from collecting in the pump, which could otherwise cause noise or reduce cooling efficiency over time.

Keep in mind that the pump cap logo has a fixed orientation, so the appearance won’t change if you rotate the cap.

Why do Kraken Core fan speeds look inconsistent in BIOS and software?

Some early Kraken Core units may show jumpy RPM readings in BIOS or monitoring software due to how the tachometer (TACH) signal is reported. The fans themselves run smoothly, cooling and noise are unaffected. RPM readings also have a normal tolerance of about ±250 RPM (10%) above or below the maximum value. Later units were updated to provide a more stable signal, but if you see this behavior, there’s no need to replace your cooler.

Do I need NZXT CAM software to control Kraken Core?

No. Kraken Core connects directly to your motherboard for both cooling and lighting. The fans connect through a PWM cable you control in your BIOS or motherboard software, while the RGB plugs into a 5V ARGB header for lighting effects.

You can still use CAM alongside Kraken Core if you’d like. While it doesn’t directly control the cooler pump speed, CAM lets you monitor system performance and sync lighting across other NZXT products.

Can I adjust the pump speed on Kraken Core?

No. The pump is designed to run at a fixed speed and doesn’t support speed adjustment. Attempting to change the speed through third-party software may cause damage. In your BIOS, we recommend setting the pump header to run at full speed.
