What's Changed With The Function 2 and Lift 2?

Product Updates

First off, we want to take a moment to thank all of you for your incredible support. We're truly excited to be launching the Function 2 keyboard and Lift 2 mouse. The feedback and constructive criticism from the community and media reviews of the first generation have been instrumental in guiding us to refine our approach and focus on enhancing your gaming experience.

With that being said, we took a different approach with the design and features of both the Function 2 and Lift 2. The first generation of these products was focused on customization, but it lacked features that made them useful for competitive gaming. Therefore, we decided to shift their focus and re-engineered them to better handle the rigors of eSports. However, we retained the essence of their customization and enhanced the tactile feel and acoustics of these products, giving you a better overall experience.

Here is a detailed list of the steps that we took to improve both the Function and Lift 2 and how it differs from the first generation:

For the Function 2 Keyboard, we've refined every touchpoint:

  • Keycaps: From ABS plastic to Double-shot PBT, ensuring durability and preventing legend fading.
  • Switches: Transitioned from Gateron Red mechanical switches to NZXT Swift Optical Switches, offering faster response times and durability.
  • Adjustable Actuation: A new feature in Function 2, allowing 2-point (1.0 mm or 1.5 mm) adjustment for personalized keystroke sensitivity.
  • Extra Switches Included: Unlike the original, Function 2 includes extra switches for easy customization to finely tune the feel of the keyboard right out of the box.
  • Polling Rate: A significant jump from up to 1000 Hz in the original Function to up to 8000 Hz in Function 2, enhancing responsiveness.
  • Sound-Dampening Foam: Function 2 doubles the layers of sound-dampening foam, minimizing keyboard noise for a quieter typing experience.
  • Tape-Enhanced PCB: Exclusive to Function 2, this feature reduces hollowness, enriching the keyboard's sound profile.

The Lift 2 Mouse is reimagined for better ergonomics and high performance:

  • Shape: Lift was only symmetrical, while Lift 2 offers both Symmetrical and Ergonomic options, catering to more grip styles.
  • Weight: Lift 2 mice are lighter, with the Symm at 58g and the Ergo at 61g, compared to the original Lift's 67g.
  • DPI: A massive increase from up to 16000 DPI in Lift to up to 26000 DPI in Lift 2, for even finer control.
  • Switch Type: Moving from Mechanical to Optical switches, Lift 2 provides faster response times and a staggering 100 million click lifetime.
  • Optical Sensor: Upgraded from PMW3389 to PMW3395, offering superior tracking accuracy.
  • Gain a Competitive Edge: Lift 2 boasts click latency as low as 0.9ms and an 8000 Hz polling rate, eight times faster than the original Lift, which all culminates to unparalleled responsiveness. .
  • NVIDIA Reflex Compatibility: A new feature in Lift 2, reducing system latency for a competitive edge in fast-paced games.

We can't guarantee that these products will make you the best player in the world at Valorant, Counter-Strike 2, or Overwatch 2, but we can assure you that your mouse and keyboard won't be the factors holding you back while you're gaming. We are looking forward to our community trying out these products and we are excited to hear what you think about the improvements that we made to them.
